I love data. And stats.

Data is beautiful. You take a look at the numbers, or a chart, and it tells you a story. It’s almost like a fairy tale, but for grown-ups.

Today I’ll show you how you can build your own fairy tale.

For this we’ll use Google Data Studio. In short, it’s a tool which takes raw numbers, makes them make sense, and returns beautiful charts and something that is actually useful.

It lets you go from this

With Google Data Studio you can combine multiple sources of data and build dashboards and reports that you actually need, not the ones that Google Analytics (or any other tool) thinks that you need.

Everything is customizable and you can keep what you want, add what you need, and get rid of the unnecessary.

I’ve heard about Google Data Studio for a while now, but I haven’t used it, other than for 5 minutes when it first launched. It didn’t look like something I needed.

But after reading this article I’ve created customized dashboards for each of my websites and now I rarely even need to open Google Analytics.

I suggest you do the same.

In the article you will find very simple, exact steps, with screenshots for each step, which will take you from zero to a fully working customized dashboard, and enough knowledge of the tool to customize it further.

Give it a try for 10 minutes and see what it can do for you.
